The Polar Express comes to Kindergarten

Students in Kindergarten decorated train cakes, watched the Polar Express and spent the day in their pajamas.

First grade Christmas program

Our first graders performed their Christmas program for the students of VES and then for families and friends.  They will perform one last time at the high school on December 19 for the students of VHS.

Math Olympics at VES

The VES PTO sponsored a fun night of Math for parents and kids calle Math Olympics.  Families rotated through the four strands of math enjoying games and activities led by VES teachers.  Parents learned about the expectations for math at each grade level and how they can continue math learning at home.  The evening ended with a gathering in the VES cafeteria with a discussion of connections that math makes to our everyday lives.  Five lucky students who sold 8 or more pies in the Market Day Pie sale got to throw a pie in the face of Mrs. Meyer!  It was all for a good cause as the Market Day Pie sale will completely fund our COSI on Wheels program in the Spring.
