Welcome new students to VES!

On Friday, we welcomed our students in grades 1-3 who are new to VES with a gathering where students shared their impressions of VES so far.  Comments were positive and the kids seem happy in their new school.  We shared a treat and a read a book together.  Welcome new students!

Our newest Sailors came all decked out in their Vermilion Elementary School T-shirts for our first Purple and Gold day on Friday.  Thank you to the VES PTO for providing T-shirst for the class of 2027!  They are on their way!

We are anxious to start learning here at VES!

Just a reminder that doors open at 8:30am and school begins at 8:50am.  Dismissal is at 3:30pm.
If you are using the free before school care - students can arrive at 8:00am.  Please call the school to let us know your childis participating.

Our first day for students in grades 1-3 is Tuesday, September 2.
Lunch on the first day is Whole grain Cheese Pizza, salad, Carroteenies, assorted fruits and Elf grahams
Kindergarten students begin on Wednesday, September 3.
Lunch on Wednesday is Soft Taco, Salsa, Tortilla Chips, Lettuce/cheese, warm apple slices
A full lunch menu will be sent home soon.

Please see Superintendent Pempin's blog post on the District Website for information regarding MAP testing for all of our students grades K-12.  At VES, we will begin testing on Thursday, September 11 with grade 3.  More specific information will be sent home when we get closer to that date.

Get a good night's sleep, a good breakfast and let's hope the morning is dry as our students enter in the morning!
